Catalog health

Keep Shopify changes moving from update to trustworthy search.

Know when products, variants, inventory, webhooks, and the live search version are healthy enough to trust.

The catalog trust loop

A product change should have a visible path to search.

From the Shopify event to the active catalog version, each transition has a place to inspect and recover.

The merchant answer

Merchants should not have to guess whether a missing result is a relevance problem or a catalog problem. ParticleSearch makes freshness, coverage, deployment, and storefront readiness part of the same operating view.

Guides and field notes

Go deeper when the decision needs detail.

Use these practical guides for the context, merchant decisions, and acceptance tests behind the capability you are evaluating.

The path

Move from catalog movement to a verified storefront.

A healthy search system keeps product data close to Shopify while preserving a safe path when an update, webhook, or deployment needs attention.

01

Detect the change

Product, variant, price, inventory, and availability changes enter the incremental sync path so the catalog can stay current.

02

Check what is searchable

Review product and variant coverage, storefront eligibility, failed records, filter health, and the reason a record is or is not ready.

03

Activate with a recovery path

Validate a catalog version before it becomes live, keep the current version protected during a rebuild, and roll back when the evidence calls for it.

Decision guide

Questions this capability should answer

Use these questions to decide whether this capability is the right next move for your store.

1

Is a missing product a search problem?

Check source eligibility, sync state, product and variant coverage, and active catalog health before changing relevance.

2

What happens during a rebuild?

The validated catalog is built separately while live search remains on the current version until activation succeeds.

3

What should the team do when updates stop?

Review the failure detail, repair webhook subscriptions or replay an event when appropriate, then confirm the storefront and active version.

What is included

Operational confidence for the catalog behind search

Freshness is a merchant outcome. The dashboard connects Shopify updates, catalog coverage, deployment quality, and storefront health so the team knows what to fix first.

Built around a merchant decision
01

Product update processing

Give merchants a way to inspect current sync state and distinguish an update signal from shopper-visible readiness.

02

Eligibility and visibility checks

Separate missing source data, unpublished products, availability policy, and indexing failures before someone changes ranking to compensate.

03

Product and variant coverage

See searchable products, indexed products, searchable variants, indexed variants, missing variants, and SKU coverage in one review path.

04

Deployment quality reports

Review indexed counts, failed records, protected-query results, validation time, activation time, and the active catalog version.

05

Resync and rollback

Start a validated rebuild without moving live search prematurely, then return to the previous validated version when a rollback is safer.

06

Storefront and webhook health

Confirm widget readiness, runtime configuration, webhook registration, permissions, and event-contract health before trusting a live result.

A useful boundary

Good product decisions include what the feature cannot solve.

ParticleSearch gives your team more evidence and control. It does not remove the need for accurate product data, a clear merchandising goal, or a review of the result on your own store.

  • ParticleSearch cannot repair incorrect Shopify product facts. The source catalog still owns titles, identifiers, availability, price, and market eligibility.
  • Update processing and search processing are different operational measurements. Neither is an end-to-end storefront speed promise; shopper-visible readiness still depends on the store, theme, browser, network, and catalogue state.
  • Health signals explain what is known about the current store. They do not replace acceptance queries on the published storefront.
