Help shoppers find the answer around the product.
Bring opted-in Shopify pages and articles into the search journey without blurring the difference between a product result and useful buying guidance.
The content handoff
Put useful guidance beside the product path.
Content can answer the question that comes before the purchase, while product results remain available for the shopper who is ready to choose.

The merchant answer
Some searches ask for a product. Others ask how to choose, configure, care for, or use one. Content search gives merchants a separate, controllable path for pages and articles when guidance is the better next step.
Guides and field notes
Go deeper when the decision needs detail.
Use these practical guides for the context, merchant decisions, and acceptance tests behind the capability you are evaluating.
The path
Give research-led shoppers a clear route forward.
Pages and articles are most useful when they answer a real buying question and keep the route back to products understandable.
Choose the content sources
Enable content search, then decide whether Shopify pages, blog articles, or both belong in the experience.
Shape the presentation
Set the section label, result limit, excerpt visibility, destination behaviour, and whether content appears before or after products.
Test the handoff
Run real research and product queries in modal and full-page search, verify the destination on mobile, and confirm the content is helping rather than displacing a better product result.
Decision guide
Questions this capability should answer
Use these questions to decide whether this capability is the right next move for your store.
Should this query return guidance?
Use content for how-to, comparison, care, policy, sizing, and other research intent. Keep product results available for shoppers ready to choose.
Which sources should be eligible?
Choose pages, articles, or both based on the content your team keeps current and the questions shoppers actually ask.
Is the content helping?
Check the query, placement, destination, mobile experience, and downstream product path instead of treating a content impression as a conversion.
What is included
A separate content path that merchants can own
Keep content discoverable without pretending that a guide, a product, and a redirect answer the same shopper job.
Pages and articles
Search opted-in Shopify pages and blog articles as distinct content results alongside product discovery.
Content in suggestions
Show relevant content in autocomplete and suggestion paths when a shopper is looking for guidance.
Modal and full-page surfaces
Place content before or after products in the storefront search response, with a compact mode for modal search.
Excerpts and clear labels
Use a merchant-defined section label and optional excerpts so shoppers understand why a page or article appeared.
Scope and result limits
Control content types and cap the number of results so the content path stays useful on a busy search page.
A deliberate destination
Open the source in the current context or a new tab, then verify that the destination continues the shopper’s task.
A useful boundary
Good product decisions include what the feature cannot solve.
ParticleSearch gives your team more evidence and control. It does not remove the need for accurate product data, a clear merchandising goal, or a review of the result on your own store.
- Content search is opt-in and disabled by default until the merchant enables the experience and selects eligible content types.
- Only indexed, eligible Shopify pages and articles can appear. Content search cannot repair missing, stale, or misleading source content.
- Content results are a separate discovery path. They should complement product search, not hide exact identifiers, availability, or a deliberate redirect.
